pH Testing -Advanced Tips

Testing your pH is simple enough, just place the test strip in your mouth and compare with the color chart. When you get between 7.0 and 7.5 on a consistent basis you’re in the ballpark.

Here are some advanced tips for pH testing:

  • When you first start test your pH several times a day for a few days in a row. Get a good average.
  • pH can vary quite a bit depending on what you ate recently, if you are under stress, how much sleep you got and so forth.
  • Saliva pH tends to vary more depending on recent circumstances.  Urine pH is more stable.
  • First morning urine pH is supposed to be a bit acidic. Your body eliminates acids while you sleep. A slightly acid morning pH indicates your body is doing a good job of eliminating acids.
  • Consider alkaline water and supplements to help your body eliminate acids and move you into the alkaline range.
