Ear Massage

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Could an  ear massage be good for your health? Auricular Acupuncture is a sub-system of Chinese medicine. There are up to 200 points on the ear. The points correspond to various points in the body. Nearly the entire body is reflected in the ear including organs, systems, muscles, joints and more.

Giving yourself a good thorough ear massage could stimulate some of these points. This could possibly have a beneficial effect on body, mind or Spirit. It’s not important to know which points are associated with which organs necessarily, just a good overall massage on the ear is a good self-help technique anyone can do. If you’re in the shower, washing your hair, your hands are already nearby. Why not give your ears a rub? I just may have some benefit.

If you are interested in real Auricular acupuncture, consider consulting a Chinese practitioner.

Diet Sodas appear to be as bad as regular

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Researchers stated that according to a recent study, consumption of diet sodas may be just as bad as the sugar laden variety.

They found adults drinking one or more sodas per day, diet or regular, had a 50% higher risk of developing “Metabolic Syndrome”.

A person with metabolic syndrome can expect to have double the risk of heart disease and stroke. Also a greater chance of diabetes.

The study involved 6,000 people who were followed over the course of 4 years.

For the past several years I have been recommending to my good friends and clients, AVOID SODA. This is one of the foundational steps necessary, if you expect to experience vibrant health.

Researchers seemed to be struggling as to why the diet sodas were as bad as regular. Nowhere did I see a mention of the fact that sodas are extremely acid forming in the body. I believe this is the real reason sodas are so damaging, they make it almost impossible to have a balanced pH. Getting your body alkaline by balancing your pH is a critical step towards total well-being.

Fiber AND Water

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

Many people are consuming more fiber in an attempt to overcome constipation, reduce their chances of colon cancer, scour toxic buildup and enhance overall well-being and health.

The important thing to remember; if you increase your fiber, it’s important to drink even more water.

More Fiber = The need for more water.

The combo of fiber and water working together can really help the elimination process.

During these warm summer months, it’s even more critical to drink plenty of water. Don’t wait until you feel thirsty. Be pro-active. Start drinking water first thing in the morning and sip throughout the day.

Athletes and other active people sometimes prefer “sports drinks”. Most of these contain unfavorable ingredients such as sugar, corn syrup, artificial colors and flavors, artificial sweeteners etc.

I prefer to add X2O to my water. It adds minerals to the water and helps to hydrate my body more efficiently.

I’ve heard people say, “I just don’t like the taste of water.” Well, if you are drinking tap water, with it’s host of chemicals and pollutants, I don’t blame you for not liking it. Try sticking with distilled, reverse osmosis or filtered water. A home unit of some type is far less costly in the long run, when compared to bottled water. I personally have a water distiller. I then add a sachet of X2O to replace minerals. After researching the issue of water quality, this is the type of water I have chosen to put in my body.

Alkaline Water

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

Many of my close friends and clients have had the opportunity to experience the health benefits of “getting alkaline”. Drinking alkaline water has played an important part in this process. Diet changes and stress reduction are also major players.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the importance of getting alkaline, otherwise known as balancing your pH, we have an information packed teleseminar tonight. This seminar was originally recorded in September of 2006 on a worldwide conference call. People from all around the globe listened in and had a chance to ask some great questions at the end. Tonight we will be playing this recording at 9:30 eastern time. The number to dial is 641-715-3200 code 928668# . There is no charge other than possible long distance.

Fun Exercise

Monday, July 16th, 2007

I’ve always recommended having fun when exercising. In fact, I don’t even like using the word “exercise”, because it is immediately associated with words like, boring, painful, and difficult.

I prefer to just encourage people to move their bodies. The human body was designed for movement and fun. Play ball with your kids or friends, go swimming, ride your bike, just get out and move.

One of the best forms of “movement” I have discovered is called rebounding. These little trampolines can be picked up for under 25 bucks in some places and are great fun to bounce on. Just put on some upbeat music and have fun. Beginners should start out slow, just a minute or two. I’ve been reading this book called”The Miracles of Rebound Exercise”, by Albert E. Carter. Who knew that simply bouncing on a little trampoline had so many health benefits?

Over the years I have known many people who have had great success improving their health and overcoming personal challenges using the Alkaline diet and lifestyle. In this short video I share a couple of these stories.

First there’s Rick who overcame cancer by eating primarily alkaline foods and natural methods.

“Cowboy” was in a wheelchair due to a severe case of arthritis, brought on be an accident. By following an alkaline lifestyle he was able to move from the wheelchair to crutches and finally to walking on his own.

In the future I’ll be sharing more stories of real people, who have had real success following the alkaline diet and using natural methods.
