How do I get rid of toenail fungus, using natural remedies?

Monday, May 7th, 2007

We get a lot of questions about toenail fungus. There are four things that I recommend to anybody who suffers from ongoing toenail fungus.

1. The first thing is to balance the pH in the body. This step is very important for overall good health. When the pH is balanced in the body it creates an unfavorable environments for fungus. You can read more about pH balance in here.

2. The second thing is to take an herbal supplement that helps to eliminate the  yeast organisms in the body. I have seen many people get great results with Nature’s Sunshine yeast fungal detox.

3. The third thing is to apply tree oil to the toenail on a daily basis. Apply a few drops of tea tree oil to the infected toenail two to three times daily, be sure to get some underneath the toenail bed.

4. Lastly I recommend taking colloidal silver by mouth before bed every night. Use a plastic teaspoon and take 1 tsp. of colloidal silver by mouth switching around in your mouth and hold it in your mouth for one to two minutes before swallowing.

Regenerate Brain Power

Here’s another great snippet from the book,  Natural Highs, by Hyla Cass, M.D., and Patrick Holford:

“According to Stanford University researcher Robert Sapolsky, after only two weeks of exposure to stress-induced cortisol levels, dendrites- the “arms” of brain cells that reach out and connect with other cells- begin to shrivel up.

Dr. Sapolsky found that when you reduce stress- and in turn, reduce cortisol levles- the dendrites grow back! You need to cut back on stimulants like, tea, coffee, or cigarettes, and opt for natural alternatives, such as ginseng, which halts the overproduction of cortisol and improves the ability of the adrenal glands to respond to stress.”

I found this very interesting that the effects of stress induced damage to the brain could actually be reversed to some degree. I already knew that ginseng was a valuable herb for combating stress, and now I have another piece of the puzzle as to why this herb is so popular.

Ashwaganda

Your Health Tip

While reading this morning I came across this little nugget of info about the herb Ashwaganda. It comes from the book “Natural Highs - Feel Good All the Time” by Hyla Cass M.D., and Patrick Holford.

“An Herb from India used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine, ashwaganda (Withania somifera), also known as Indian ginseng, is increasingly being integrated into Western herbal practice. A versatile adaptogen, ashwaganda can enhance the immune system, boost energy, calm the stress response and reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol. It can also enhance memory and mental acuity due to its antioxidant effect and ability to increase acetycholine-receptor activity. On top of all this, it’s an aphrodisiac!”

I came across this herbal formula which contains ashwaganda.
