Vitamin A
Recently I did a bit of research on vitamin A and here is a summary of some of the information about this important nutrient:
- Vitamin A was the first vitamin to be discovered.
- Essential for good vision and promoting normal growth.
- Necessary for the health of epithelial cells and the immune system.
- Required for the digestion of protein.
- Essential for reproduction and the formation of steroid hormones.
- Used to form the cells lining the digestive, respiratory, reproductive and urinary tracts and in all tissue linings of the body.
- Vital for healthy skin and is a famous antioxidant.
- Best absorbed when taken with food containing fat or oil.
- Beta Carotene, found in plants is the precursor to Vitamin A.
- Helps to build resistance to respiratory infections.
- May help the body to fight off disease or prevent illness in the first place, by boosting the immune system.
Most people typically get their vitamin A from a healthy diet and/or a good broad spectrum Multi-Vitamin Mineral supplement. I personally take Life’s Fortune myself. This combination of vitamins, minerals and organic superfoods gives me a good energy boost.
