Mineral Absorption
Your Health Tip
Today’s tip is a quote from the book “Optimum Wellness” by Ralph Golan M.D.
“Chelated Minerals Mineral are best absorbed from the digestive tract into your circulation in their chelated form (in which they are “bound” to amino acids or other substances). There are many chelation vehicles on the market with a wide variation in absorption. How do you know whether to buy calcim carbonate or calcium malate; magnesium oxide or magnesium fumarate? The answer is to buy the ones with the highest absorption efficiencies: malate, ethanolamine, phosphate, ascorbate, citrate, fumarate, peptonate, succinate, lysinate, glycinate, picolinate and acetate. Moderately high efficiency absorption efficiency vehicles are: amino acid chelates, asparate, chloride, sulfate, gluconate and phosphate. The lowest absorption efficiency vehicles (and the least-expensive) are carbonate and oxide.”
